Carleton University’s new Graduate Diploma in Work and Labour promises to examine issues of work and labour through a historical, political, and economic lens.
The first courses will be held in fall 2020 and offer graduate students an opportunity to obtain a credential in work and labour concurrent to a master’s or PhD studies. The program also has an experiential learning component to give students practical experience through a work placement with a labour or work-related organization.
The diploma will also be offered as a stand-alone program for external students, providing an academic grounding in political economy to people who are already employed by unions and other work-related organizations.
